The long awaited list of ministerial nominees was released and sent to the National Assembly (Senate) on July, 2019. A very thorough and rigorous but successful screening session was done, followed by a three day ministers’ designate retreat with President and Commander-in- chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, which saw the inaugural session through on 21st August, 2019 at the states house, where the President tasked new ministers on laborious attitudes.
The honorable minister for state, Budget and National Planning, Prince (Amb.) Clem Agba acknowledged his mentor and friend, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the ruling party (APC), during the congratulatory dinner organized in his honour by friends and well -wishers at the Transcorp Hilton; he thanked him for projecting him to clinch the ministerial position and for giving him the privilege to prove his professional worth in the political space. “I give credit to my political mentor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for whatever I am today in the political space, he brought me to political limelight and he has always projected me for higher responsibilities” Agba expressed.
There is no doubt that Hon. Clem Agba who has a robust track record in leadership and as a pathfinder, while he held sway as Commissioner in various ministries in Edo State, with an impeccable and enviable industry experience, laced with his enigmatic character in his former office, Chevron has all it takes to join the next level agenda, to influence and stimulate the system positively and to move Nigeria forward.
He is the second minister his district, Edo North has produced after Chief Tony Momoh and the first from Etsako East LGA and the Uneme Nations where he hails from since Nigeria’s independence in 1960.
This has given the gentle and vibrant young administrator higher responsibilities, although, he has never failed in his previous duties as Commissioner, international moderator and community developer.
Having given an account of how brilliant, dedicated, focused, and intelligent the little Clem was during his adolescent and undergraduate days in school, he, Honorable Agba thanked members of the St. John’s Old Boys Association for honouring him with their presence and for reposing their confidence in him.
His efforts to edify the body of Christ and his position as an elder were not left out as members of his church expressed that there is no doubt he will succeed in his responsibility and tasks ahead of him, following his aged leadership style he has portrayed in the church.
Prince Clem Agba, who took a break for an emergency meeting with the President while the dinner was ongoing, told his admirers and supporters to give their usual support for him to serve better, in addition therefore, he promised he will not let Nigeria and Nigerians down.
God bless our illustrious son!
