The Authors in School Creative (AiS) Club successfully held its Annual National Convention virtually, on Monday 18th July, 2022, to draw the curtain for the 2021/2022 year, in commemoration of its 4th year anniversary. The event was well attended by its Advisors, members and Guests nationwide.
In her presentation, the Keynote Speaker, Ms. Aishah Gambari, described ‘creativity’ as used in various contexts to mean productivity, human intelligence, emotion, and other qualities associated with creative practice.
The Public Affairs Analyst, in a paper titled, ‘Creativity, an important tool for our existence’, further stated that Creativity is essential to human development, as humans are born with an innate desire to express themselves intelligently and the desire is hardwired into our neurons, being part of our DNA.
Others speakers were Club advisors who urged members to imbibe positive culture and endearing disposition to enable them attain an enviable destination on all spheres of life.
In a joint remarks, the Founders, Amb. Lois Otse Adams and Fr. Reginald Adogamhe, expressed gratitude to God for the growth of the club and everyone who has made it possible this far. Outstanding members of the Club were honoured with the most creative member and active administrator award of the year.
“Your efforts will not go unrewarded as God will continue to open up doors for you. To our Guests, our Advisors and Keynote Speaker, on behalf of the Club, we sincerely appreciate the time and effort you put into adding value to us. May the Lord bless you for being here with us as we celebrate the 4th year anniversary” They said.
“I see all of your works, I am always with you, my heart is thinking of you and I pray for you always” the Cofounder, Fr. Adogamhe assured.
Issues concerning the wellbeing of the club, members’ attitude and determination towards Monthly, quarterly and other major events were discussed, while resolutions were made and members were enjoined to improve the status of the Club through active participations.
The 2023 Anthology of Stories written by members of the Club, titled, ‘Creativity’, was officially unveiled by the Cofounder, Amb. Adams. While the Editorial Team was charged to do a befitting job, members were encouraged to explore their talents in the spirit of the Convention to make their stories on different genres to enrich the Anthology.
AiS Club was birthed four years ago through an overwhelming Seminar supported by the Family and Human Life Unit of the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, with Secondary Schools in Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State to nurture young minds and to empower their creative ideas for a saner world.
