Public Affairs Analyst, Aishah Gambari has maintained that Creativity plays an essential role in human development, as humans are born with an innate desire to express themselves creatively, and this desire is hardwired into our neurons as part of our DNA.
This was contained in a Keynote address delivered by Ms. Gambari, at the just concluded 4th annual convention of the Authors in School (AiS) Creative Club, a creativity-driven body who have from its inception in 2018 consistently encouraged young Nigerians to explore creative heights and excel even while they are in school.
Ms. Gambari who encouraged the young adults to embrace creative writing as a means to communicate their thoughts further maintained that people might not always have the ability or right platform to speak out, but by creating an art work or writing for publications, individuals can connect with the world at large.
The event with theme; ‘Creativity: A surviving tool for the present generation’, was graced by different guests, including the Advisors, who also delivered papers on various aspects of life.
One of the club advisors, Chief Richard Lamai, threw some light on Money and budgeting. According to him; “Money and budgeting is an essential skill that young adults need to possess; It is important young adults have an interest in budgeting to avoid getting lured into scams, loans, and being financially stranded. If you want to be a growing young adult you need to be able to make appropriate purchases within your financial means.” He said.
Meanwhile, Chris Oboh delivered a life-changing and educating paper, and Joseph Okhakia on his part encouraged members to desist from anything that will lead them towards the wrong direction.
The highpoint of the event was the unveiling of the 2023 Anthology of Stories, titled ‘Creativity’. Different literally creative presentations were made, artworks were unveiled and the 2023 Maiden Anthology was unveiled and discussed with a conclusion with the AGM.
