40TH Anniversary: Etsako club 81 honours Agba, others

Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, was one of the sons and daughters of Etsako that were honoured for their developmental strides in the land at the Etsako Club 81 40th anniversary.

Etsako Club 81, under the National working Committee Chairmanship of Barr. Greg Otsu, celebrated its 40th anniversary and fund raising for the building of the erected Afenmai Cultural and Vocational Skill Centre on the 29th October, 2022, in Lagos State.

The Chairman of the occasion, Chief (Dr.) Mike Ozekhome, SAN, CON, having made his donation, encouraged his Afenmai brothers and sisters to endeavour to take the Cultural Centre project as their own.

He prayed, through a video conference while on transit, that God should continue to bring them together on positive cause. His Son, Barr. Ilugbekhai Ozekhome, who represented his father, revealed how he met his wife through the club and urged the youths to focus on joining the elders to develop Afenmai land.

Others honoured for their developmental strides in the land were elders of the Club, founding fathers, outstanding past presidents, and professional Nigerian media practitioners with decades experience.

Distinguished Guests present at the occasion were the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chief Sam Afemikhe, National President, Dr. Bala Yusufu, Chapters Chairmen, Deputy Governor, Edo State, His Excellency, Rite Honourable Philip Shaibu, who also represented the Executive Governor, distinguished members of the Club and planning Committee members.

The event was also attended by members of the National Assembly and State House of Assembly, captains of industries, other government functionaries, candidates of political parties, and a chain of representatives of well meaning Afenmai sons and daughters like Chief Richard Lamai.

The high point of the event was the cutting of the anniversary cake, exchange of compliments, photo section, native music, cultural display and refreshment, while members celebrated the actualization of the Club’s dream.

Etsako comprises of three local government areas, namely, Etsako West with headquarters in Auchi, Etsako Central with headquarters in Fugar and Etsako East with headquarters in Agenebode.

It is one of the peaceful divisions under Afenmai Land, which comprises Etsako, Akoko-Edo and Owan divisions.
