2013: Joy Ifije and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole having breakfast in Government House, B/C

The 2013 flashback of Joy Ifije vs Adams Oshiomhole’  assault story: my take!

I have read the resuscitated and poorly written blackmailing story  of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s alleged insult on a widow, which  flooded the social media few weeks ago.

Some highly intelligent blackmailers even catoonized the event on a market woman. It is indeed baffling and very worrisome to note that some educated illiterates and  commentators never put on their thinking caps by separating rationality from emotion or cared to know the flip side of the story before  their comments, castigations, vituperations and names calling of the Comrade Governor (as he then was).
In same story, a photograph showing the present governor showing love to a woman was also displayed, for viewers to pass their verdicts, which they perfectly did.

In my recent posts I focus on Nigerians to develop their minds, and get rid of certain beliefs that will lead us to nowhere. Nigerians are so naive to understand what is real and what is lodged out to dent the image of persons or corporate entity, and until we sanitize our consciousness, senses and sensibility by cultivating the habit and culture of saying no to Greek gifts, we may continue to live in a state of Utopia and always fall victims of people with a predetermined objective of grounding Nigeria to a total halt, due to their great knack and voracious appetite for looting and maiming our collective treasury.

That resuscitated scene of a widow allegedly insulted by the comrade governor was facilitated by a weird supporter of the present governor we all know has fallen apart with his predecessor, with the over ambition of cruising into Osadebey house come 2020, this was borne out of greed to be a  godfather, just to drag to the public the good fingers that projected, raised, fed and brought him to political stardom.

Any well thinking and responsible person will trash the resuscitated event orchestrated by known enemies and see them as ingrates, desperadoes, blackmailers and never-do-wells.

We are gradually crawling into perilous times where those who turn down the law are being celebrated, times where law abiding citizens who make little errors are crucified where those who pride in evil are uplifted, a replica of Animal farm as published by George Orwell, a clear mimick of the comic but lugubrious self-deception and outright mendacity event which characterized the Russian revolution.

We no longer care to know those leaders who obey the law and those who try to kill the laws of our land to cling to powers forever. We are in an Era where self- centered leaders are celebrated for dishing out peanuts and Greek gifts, an era where anything goes.

I support women, I embark on vanguards for gender balance and total emancipation from all forms of assault especially the Edo Woman,  while launching campaigns for the girl child education. Women empowerment through charity and other humanitarian means have been the crux of my advocacy, apart from using my profession as a writer and Journalist to better advance their course.

I have attracted  Foundations into my state and they are empowered and still empowering the  women, in spite of the fact that I am a strong supporter of a woman,  I will not support a perpetual lawbreaker.

Those who break the law are not friends of the society, and that gave rise to what played out on the day a widow was insulted.

For those who irrationally, blindly, wickedly and naively commented that the former governor was heartless to have insulted the widow after she had begged him, should know that it was after the widow pushed the then governor to the wall, the governor was already tensed following her penchant recalcitrant disposition and outright disrespect for constituted authority and before the watchful eyes of the comrade governor.

He didn’t insult her because of her disobedience, but because she broke the laws that says do not come to the road again to sell uncountable times, that was not the first time he warned her, several warnings were given to her to be law abiding but she remained adamant and incorrigible .

What touched the comrade governor was the innumerable lives that were being taken as women especially were being knocked  down by vehicles and some sustained various injuries on different times, as a result of trading and parking on the right of way, which impeded free traffic flow, blockage of drainages and other environmental issues at the popular Ring Road, the pride of the state capital which was being beautified with tax payers money.

Having painted the worse scenarios, the actor have refused to expose to the public the aftermath of the event where he told the widow to go to hell out of anger of being harmed by ruthless drivers; the former governor went remorseful, nobody told him to be calm, he went calm and humble, he raised the widow up, and he hugged her. Having gone back home, he was troubled, and he sent for the woman, the woman was financially empowered and given a good job. And the widow also promised to work with the then state government in its campaign against street trading and instruction.

Hold it there!  I am not trying to paint him a saint under any guise, as (the former governor) may have his Achilles’s hills as a mere mortal, but he has worked so hard to put smiles on people’s faces, he has worked tirelessly and creditably to make Edo people and the state an enviable one among the comity of States the world over.

During his reign as the CEO, Edo state was truly the pride of other states, it was a reference point and beacon for other neighbouring states to adopt as both human capital and infrastructure template, as the state competed favourably with Lagos state among the comity of states with clear and achievable blue print.

Disparaging and or trying to dent his image via vituperations and sabotage, after all he has laboured for in and for the state and its people is clearly tantamount to “killing the goose that lays the golden egg” and that will not do us any good, just because you want peanuts, crumbs and Greek gifts from the present directionless, purposeless, and Golgotha bound administration.

Confusing or deluding the public will fetch you nothing, but you are very much at liberty to face your business of collecting peanuts, but stop acting like pot who addresses kettle as black.

Let’s pause and  ponder!
