NUJ FELICITATES WITH SHUAIBU LEMAN ON HIS RETIREMENT AS NATIONAL SECRETARY.

The President, Nigerian  Union of Journalists ( NUJ), Chris Isiguzo and the union has felicitated the longest serving National Secretary, Shuaibu Leman on his retirement from the union.

Isiguzo who said that the National Secretary has saved the image of the union countless times through his foresight and wealth of experience, maintained that the Union will continue to learn from him even at retirement.

“He has stepped twice in to save the Union from disintegration, we are not in a hurry to bid him farewell because we will continue to tap from his fatherly disposition.”

The appreciation event, which had past and present leadership of the  NUJ as well as Nigerian Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ) in attendance, was held at the Abuja Council of the union, on 17th November, 2021 in Jabi at 5:00pm 

Similarly, former NUJ President, Uba Sani, in his goodwill message, amongst others,  congratulated the outgoing Secretary, referring to him as a meticulous and goal oriented fellow.

In his response, the outgoing National Secretary, who said that everything which has a begining has an end, expressed a hearty appreciation to colleagues and friends for the massive show of love towards him.

Recall that precedent to his appointment as the National Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in 2002, Leman who recently turned 60, was the Editor In Chief/Managing Director of Bauchi Publishing and Printing Company Nigeria Limited, publishers of the Trumpeter and Kakaki Newspaper.

Members of the Union wish him all the best in his future endeavours, as they pray God Almighty mantle him with longevity and good health to the glory of His name.
