When Nature Imposes Grief and Mourning on Nigerians.
Fate and nature has forcibly imposed a gloomy and mourning mood on Nigeria by awarding an all-important football victory to Ghana.
When two abstract phenomena-fate and nature-cooperate to shape or alter the sequence of human expectations, we are left mouth agape, either bemoaning or celebrating.
Little wonder the Ghana-Nigeria world cup qualifying match ended in premium tears for Nigeria and Nigerians.
Come to think of it, why should celebratory expressions be engraved on our faces when we should be mourning the cold-blooded murder of scores of fellow compatriots who were bombed out of existence on a passenger train by bloodthirsty terrorists?
Could it not be that mother nature was incensed with us for urinating on the corpses of the victims of that callous attack currently lying cold, stone dead in the morgues?
Yes! Urinating on their corpses is what it is. How difficult was it to observe a two minutes silence in their honour before the match, or have our players and officials wear black armbands around their wrist signifying grief and mourning?.
The blood of Nigerians lost to intractable, octane but avoidable insecurity currently ravaging this country is crying to high heavens for action.
Of a truth, we have no reason to make merry!
