A Creativity-driven team, Authors in School (AiS) Creative Club, have encouraged young Nigerians to explore creative heights as they pledge to provide both financial and moral support to industrous and reliable youths in Nigerian Schools.
This was contained in an address presented at the two days 2021 physical meeting/retreat of the Authors in School (AIS) Creative Club held in Edo State, by the Club National President, Joshua Idogho on the 29th of december, 2021.
The National President who said that the club is geared towards helping youths become better citizens of the country, further maintained that the purpose of setting up the club is to expose members and young minds to the world of inventiveness.
“The purpose of setting up the club is to expose us to the world of creativity, the oceans of creativity which ordinarily you may never know, only a few who are gifted with creative eyes can. The club exposes us to this reality and helps develop our thinking to see what others may never see and to embrace thinking outside the box towards developing our talents at whatever we do or may have passion/interest in doing. Ultimately, the club is geared at helping us become better citizens of our dear country Nigeria.”
While maintaining that the meeting was focused on coming together to brainstorm as well as source fruitful ideas to move the club forward, Idogho also disclosed that the club have had different National Essay Competitions with lots of entries from around the country, one of which is THE RICHARD LAMAI PRIZE COMPETITIONS which has its second edition ongoing and will be concluded on the 31st December, 2021.
He further highlighted other major achievements attained by the club in the last three years.
“From the establishment of the club on 18th July, 2018, the club had just nine Secondary School Chapters in Edo North. Currently, I am pleased to announce to you that we now have chapters across six other Private Schools in Edo sates and Chapters in four Tertiary Institutions in the country in the likes of; University of Benin, Ambrose Alli University, Edo State University, Auchi Polytechnic, University of Abuja to mention but a few. We also have a Chapter established in Bayelsa State and Chapters are Springing up in the Federal Capital Territory Secondary Schools, Abuja currently.”
“Recently, we registered a company for a member under the Coporate Affairs Commission as part of our mission to produce young and reliable entrepreneurs who will contribute meaningfully to the society.” He added.
