The Adamu family have no choice but to take solace in the Lord and look up to God at this grieving time. This is because we are celebrating a life well spent.
Uncle, you were a very peaceful man, that was the attribute that endeared you to many whose paths crossed your way. Endearing memories of you and my parents are ever green and looking back today and seeing none of you tells me that life is indeed transient and short…we are mere mortals.
Seeing your remains on the 21st November, 2021 being convened at your residence and seeing my cousins shed tears further lightened my spirit to love more and it reminded me that it is the price we all have to pay once we are done.
In life, we get the wonder, the joy, the tender moments and we also get the tears at the end too. Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers his duty to humanity, he can rest in peace. I believe you made that effort, and that is, therefore, why you will sleep for eternity. Uncle, you have left some beautiful memories that will never fade away, they will remain fresh in my heart.
I do not know how to console my grieving heart at your departure, my dear favorite uncle but I am consoled in the tender moments shared with my parents especially when I was much younger. My dear Mother was your best friend and how you used to meet us at home and laugh over issues are also memories that will never fade away
I know mourning is not the best way to say goodbye to you, I am comforted in those ever green memories shared at various times, I celebrate you dear Uncle, you were my dear Father’s favorite and vise versa. After you passed away, we realized how much and deeply you looked up to your dear brother, my Father. It is sad you could not stay a bit longer than him, Uncle.
You will be missed forever and always. The beautiful moments you shared with us while we were much younger and recently, especially when your senior brother, my dear Father whom you looked up to till death will always speak of the great person that you were.
You left us because your body had served its purpose. Your soul had done what it came to do, learned what it came to learn, and then was free to leave and you left peacefully without a hitch.
Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. You lived well, dear uncle and you will be deeply missed.
Our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life. I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make.
Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.
Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your memory lives within me, forever in my heart, uncle.
I will forever miss you, dear uncle.
Rest well!
