Kaduna State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity) enlightened and empowered women and girl-child in commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girl Child.
The theme of this year’s event is, “UNITE: Activism to Violence Against Women and Girl-Child”
The United Nations has set aside 25th November, every year as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girl-child.

The event held on 25th November 2022 at 9:00am in Makera Community, Kaduna South Local Government Area, commenced with a rally and talk afterwards.

Speakers at the event were Hafsat Moh’d Baba, Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Human Services and Social Development Kaduna State; Dr. Hajara Ni’ima Kera, Director Public Health, Kaduna State Ministry of Health; Mrs Egwuibe Martina, National Library, Kaduna State,
and and the Convener, Amb. Dr. Okpara Obinna of Aurora Flotilla Desk, Kaduna State.

The event that had wife of the State Governor in attendance, Community leaders and State media is sponsored by the National Association of Seadogs in addressing the rights of women, menace of domestic violence against women and girl-child who are the roots and fruits of society.
Gifts and educational materials, including books, were given to participants in partnership with the Udukhotse Foundation and Authors in School Creative Club under the leadership of Amb. Lois Otse Adams, who had a guest appearance during the programme.
