The Edo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo, has commenced hosting the 25th Regular National Council of Women Affairs (NCWA) in Benin City. The four-day conference, themed “Strengthening Systems and Deepening Social Impact: Advancing the Renewed Hope Social Agenda for Women, Children, the Family, and Vulnerable Groups,” brings together commissioners, ministers, permanent secretaries, directors, and stakeholders from across the nation.
Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Edo State, Mrs. Eugenia Abdallah, expressed her gratitude to the Federal Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, for choosing Edo State as the venue for the 25th edition. Abdallah, while she noted that the conference aims to empower women, celebrate their strength and resilience, and chart a course for a brighter future, thanked the State Governor for paving the way others follow.

The event features meaningful discussions, experience sharing, and networking opportunities, with participants engaging in ideas exchange and exploring ways to break down barriers and create opportunities for women to succeed. Abdallah urged women to seize the moment to forge new partnerships, challenge the status quo, and create a future that is more just, equitable, and prosperous for all.
The conference is attended by high-profile dignitaries, including the President of Nigeria, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima; the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; and the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, among others.
