As we celebrate Easter, we are reminded of the ultimate sacrifice of love that Jesus Christ made for us. Through His death and resurrection, He showed us the true meaning of love, peace, humility, and unity. These values are not only relevant during this season, but they should guide us in our daily lives.
Love is the foundation of Easter. In John 3:16, it is written, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse shows the depth of God’s love for us and the extent to which He was willing to go to save us. As we celebrate Easter, let us show love to one another, just as Christ loved us.
Peace is another important value of Easter. In John 14:27, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” This verse reminds us that the peace of Christ is available to us, and we can have it if we trust in Him. Let us strive for peace in our homes, communities, and the world at large, knowing that true peace can only come from Christ.
Humility is also a key value of Easter. In Philippians 2:3-4, we are told, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interest but each of you to the interests of others.” This verses challenge us to be selfless and considerate of others. Let us put aside our pride and focus on serving others, just as Christ did.
Finally, Easter reminds us of the importance of unity. In 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, it is written, “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” This verses emphasize the unity we have in Christ, regardless of our backgrounds. As we celebrate Easter, let us embrace our diversity and work towards unity in our families, communities, and nation.
In conclusion, Easter is not just a time to eat chocolates, eggs and exchange gifts. It is a time to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of love that Jesus Christ made for us and to emulate the values He stood for; love, peace, humility, and unity. Let us use this season to show love to one another, strive for peace, serve others in humility, and work towards unity in spite of tribe, tongue, race, colour, tradition, etc
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter! Let us take this time to reflect on the true meaning of this joyous occasion, a time of love, peace, humility, and unity. May we be reminded of the importance of these values in our daily lives and strive to live by them.
May this Easter season be a time of renewed hope, joy, and faith in Christ Jesus.
Happy Easter to you and your loved ones!
