The stage was set, the young singers walked into the area in a single file; each clutching the hand of the other in front, on getting to their sitting area, they were assisted and positioned well facing the cheering and anticipating audience. The enchanting smiles from the performers were magnetic, as they conducted themselves properly to the admiration of the onlookers. There was a short silence encouraging all to be prepared for what seemed to be clear evidence of ability in disability.

Their singing rented the air as the melodic and sonorous voices of the visually challenged singers traveled into the hearts of all present, ushering them officially into the beautiful season of the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Princess Dr. Gloria Ahmed Hope Foundation organized the event tagged ‘Night of Christmas Carol Celebration’ on the 12th of December, 2022 at the residence of her founder, Princess (Dr) Gloria Ahmed. The celebration was graced by family, friends and colleagues of the philanthropist.

One of the many objectives of the end-of-year Christmas celebration was to educate the Guests on the need to shun stereotypical aberrations on the physically and mentally challenged in society. She further encouraged the challenged to continue to see abilities in their disabilities.

Guests were called upon to share what Christmas meant to them, some said it was the season of celebration commemorating the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, others said it was a season of enjoyment, time to visit family and friends and share joy with them etc. The Founder and President of the Foundation, Dr. Ahmed, said Christmas was all of that and much more, she emphasized that Christmas was a time of Sharing the Love of God to everyone; the loveable and unloveable that, it was a season of giving and sharing and that was why the Foundation had put the small event together to share the love of Christ with one another and with the visually impaired Choir made up of young persons from various Secondary schools in and around the FCT.

The event was also marked with dancing, eating and other memorable side attractions.

The celebration came to an end with well-wishers complimenting the Special Persons Chorale Foundation Choir for their intriguing rendition and the Hope Foundation, for a memorable evening in the presence of the Lord.
