Bawa’s Call for Unity: Strengthening the Bond Between Edo and Delta States

0

The cultural heritage bond between Edo and Delta states is undeniable. As former constituents of Bendel State between 1976 and 1991, both states share a rich history, values, and traditions. Despite the division, they remain interconnected, with each state’s progress affecting the other.

Hon. Bawa Mohammed, a former aspirant for the Etsako Federal Constituency of the House of Representatives, emphasizes the need for greater economic, social, and political integration between the two states. He likens their relationship to twins separated by spouses but still united.

To strengthen their bond, Bawa suggests focusing on key areas such as economic development initiatives, infrastructure development, social services, cultural exchange and preservation, and political cooperation and representation.

By integrating their efforts, Bawa believes both states can preserve their cultural identity, protect shared values and traditions, foster community cohesion, and promote peaceful coexistence. He calls on the people of Edo and Delta states to continue embracing their shared values and culture, working towards a brighter future by leveraging their shared heritage and values.
