Born on Sunday 15th October, 1978 at Ibadan, Oyo State and described by many as a beacon of hope, Comrade Odia Robert Ogedegbe is a man whose interest is to see a new dawn we have all craved for, a man with a subjected timing to reposition things in an appropriate order, most importantly a man with a tradition of kindness. It is that time an individual of this quality is presented to be supported by the good people of Auchi Polytechnic Community to clear the coast of leadership in the forth coming election of Auchi Chapter of the Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association (APAA).
“Leadership without vision is tantamount to not producing expectations of the people”. Owing to this fact, Comrade Odia Robert Ogedegbe, having understood the power of electorates and the strength of the people, has come to seek their votes to cling to the highest leadership seat of the Auchi Chapter Alumni. The Association is in dire need of a renewed leadership with not just focus but proactivenes, creative ideas and innovative minds, and these qualities are found in the person of “Comrade Odia Robert Ogedegbe”, who does not just possess the above qualities but has a broad knowledge and experience to stir the ship of the prestigious association.
In his humble beginning, Robert acquired Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration/Management (with an Upper Credit) and National Diploma (ND) in Business Administration (with a Lower Credit) from the citadel of learning, Auchi Polytechnic after his Secondary education at Our Lady of Fatima College at Auchi.
He further acquired his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Business Administration (First Class Honours) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and; two Masters Degrees, MBA in Business Administration and M.Sc in Business Management at the Delta State University, Abraka.
This illustrious Son of Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo state is currently upping his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Degree in Business Administration at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.
Currently, he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management, and the Institute of Public Speaking, who is currently having a working experience at the prestigious Institution (Auchi Polytechnic) as a Senior Assistant Registrar at the Directorate of Degree Programmes; a Professional Manager who once served as the pioneer Manager of the Mini Model Market of the Department of Marketing and Security related responsibility for the institution.

He had worked at Mawa Maritime Nigeria Limited, Lagos as the Warri Regional Manager, immediately after his compulsory One Year Mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Viktop Investment Company Limited in Jos as an Administrative Officer; while he briefly worked at Setraco Nigeria Limited as an Account Clerk, as well as his Industrial Training (IT) Attachment with Marketing and Services Research Company during his One year Industrial Training as a Trainee Manager.
Comrade Odia Robert Ogedegbe, with his vast experience, has attended wealth creation, management and security based Conferences, Seminars and Training both at Local, National and International levels and has rendered enormous community services as a member of reputable Organizations/Associations both within and outside Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi. Where he was opportune to have presented over seven (7) scholarly papers and with over five (5) Local and International Journal articles with contemporary issues to his credit.
He had previously served as the Parish President of the Catholic Lectors Association of Nigeria (CLAN), Immaculate Conception Cathedral (ICC); currently the ICC Parish President and Deanery III PRO of the League of Commentators (Announcers), Catholic Diocese of Auchi; Chairman, Children/Youth Harvest Planning Committee, Immaculate Conception Cathedral (ICC) for three tenures; former President, Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON), ICC, Auchi; former Publicity Chairman, Children/Youth Harvest Planning Committee, St Ambrose Catholic Church, Ekpan – Warri, Delta State.
A born leader, whom at a younger age held the position of National Provost, National Association of Catholic Corps Members (NACC), 2004 during his Service Year; Chairman, Harvest Planning Committee for Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students (NFCS), St. Augustine Chaplaincy, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in the 2002/2003 Session; Welfare Secretary, Students’ Union Government (SUG), Auchi Polytechnic, where he was opportune to represent the Auchi Polytechnic SUG at both Zonal and National levels of NANS/NAPS during the 2002/2003 Session; Member, Students’ Welfare Advisory Committee (SWAC), Auchi Polytechnic, 2002/2003 Session; Member, Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC), Auchi Polytechnic, 2002/2003 Session and other community based associations.
This is the man the crown fits, a man born to lead, a man with indeed the qualities of a true leader; let us support him to attain the apex office of the Auchi Chapter of Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association (APAA), to move the association to the expected and enviable feat.
