Authors-in-School Creative Club, an active and innovative group whose core aim is; ‘using imagination to creatively produce excellence’, have revealed that multiple streams of income which includes financial support from stakeholders as well as fund raising within members will be necessary if the association must enjoy swift growth in 2022.

This was contained in a brief report on the general discussion/brainstorming session of the AiS Creative Club 2021 Physical Meeting and Retreat which took place within the space of three days starting from the 29th of December to the 31st of December 2021, in Edo State.

As a means of getting together to promote creativity as well as to strategize for 2022, the AiS Creative Club organized a physical retreat with its members, where important issues affecting the club and achievements in 2021 were brought to the fore.

Addressing participants, Co-founder of the Club, Amb. Lois Otse Adams urged everyone to be very active and engaging when it comes to membership drive as it is vital for every association to bring in more members as part of its growth.

While deliberating on how to successfully achieve the fourth edition of its annual convention in 2022, Participants discussed the outcomes and recommendations from previous outreach programnes; the recent school tour and its events which took place. With all that was projected for consideration, the 2022 Convention promises to be mind-blowing.

Also, general challenges facing the Club were tabled for discussion as the Club’s Executives had the floor to present the various issues they faced in their offices and solutions were proffered.

The morning session of the retreat which officially began at 10:30am with an opening address by the club’s president, Joshua Idogho, came to a close with the review of the 2021/2022 calendar, as ideas and improvements were made to be effected on the 2022/2023 calendar.

At about 9:00pm the brainstorming session continued with all office holders giving their individual office reports and stating their challenges. This included activities report which was given by the Vice President (Operations), Dako Fortune.

In this session, different deliberations were also made based on the reports given, as the session came to a close at about 11:00pm with the presentation of financial report by the club’s treasurer Cos-Lewisa Osigbemhe.
