The Order of Diplomatic Service Merit, the Heungui Medal is one of South Korea’s ornaments of merit. It is awarded by the President of South Korea to those who have recorded exceptional feats in humanitarian and diplomatic services. It is a relatively rare honor, being usually awarded to a handful of people yearly. It is one of the highest civilian awards in South Korea.
The Ambassador of South Korea to Nigeria, His Excellency, Ambassador Kim Young-Chae, on behalf of the president of South Korea, bestowed the Heungin Medal on the Honorable Minister of State, Finance, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba for his achievements and contributions in strengthening the ties between South Korea and Nigeria on Thursday, in Abuja.

On his vote of thanks, the minister thanked God and His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for the opportunity to serve as a federal minister. He further appreciated His Excellency, the President of the Republic of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, the Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, and the Selection Committee for the prestigious award.

“I also acknowledge the invaluable support I have received from my humble wife, Princess Catherine Agba, Members of the Cabinet, Heads of Development Agencies, Permanent Secretaries, CEOs of Parastatals in the Ministry, as well as my family and friends who were present at the award ceremony”

The Honorable Minister also reiterated his unwavering commitment to continue to be of service to the nation and the world. He explained that his wide range of initiatives that have enabled him to contribute to the field of diplomacy ensures his zeal for making a difference in the world.
