The National Coordinator of Open Government Partnership (OGP), Nigeria, and Director of Special Duties at the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr. Gloria Kudi Ahmed, has bagged another award of excellence during the 2022 Corporate Executive Recognition Conference.
The award, received at an event held on the 10th of December, 2022, at the Grand Pela Hotel, Abuja, is in appreciation of her outstanding performance in administrative matters and her professionalism.
The award was bestowed on her by the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria.
She was also elected a Fellow, having satisfied the requirements for admission and in recognition of her competence in administrative functions, leadership strategies, and outstanding performance as an administrator.
Having previously won several awards as a result of her endearing lifestyle and leadership focus as a career civil servant, Ahmed expressed gratitude and pledged to recommit herself to the service of the nation and humanity.
During an interview, she pledged to further support more women to realize their potentials.
She said that a woman is multifaceted, multitasking and an ‘octopus’ who gets a lot done if given an opportunity in any capacity.
The Nasarawa-born administrator further said she would particularly encourage women in her state to acquire education so as to prepare them for a better future.
Ahmed has distinguished herself through her leadership style, using her strength of character to inspire women across the globe.
Ahmed, who is also an advocate of the prevention of violence against women, stated that women should endeavour to work hard in their little capacities, look up to mentors and be diligent in whatever they do in spite of the challenges facing them.
She further added that there is no challenge that has outlived success.
She has been at the forefront of advocacy for women and girl-child living in rural communities through her foundation – Princess Gloria Ahmed Hope Foundation – earning her several recognitions.
Godswill Onyekwere, Director of the institute, said Ahmed was recognized because of her passion and excellence towards administrative deliverables in various government establishments as a career civil servant.
Others who spoke described the OGP Coordinator as principled, hardworking, innovative, humane, a mentor, philanthropist, God-fearing and a great lover of Nigeria and her people.
The conference was held to discuss issues that border on changes in the economy, administration, politics and how to move Nigeria forward.
