OGP National Coordinator gets CIPDM’s award

The Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management (CIPDM), has conferred a fellowship award on the National Coordinator of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), Nigeria, Dr Gloria Kudi Ahmed.

The event, themed “Effective Policy Implementation and Governance through Diplomacy” took place on the 11th of November 2022 at the Banquet Hall, Merit House, Abuja.

The award stems from her passion and excellence towards administrative deliverables in her many years of experience at various Government Establishments as a career civil servant. She is also the Director of Special Duties Department of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning (Budget and Planning Arm) and oversees the secretarial process of the National Economic Council Meetings, Joint Planning Board and National Council on Development Planning etc.

Ahmed, who can be described as a woman with many caps on her head and has distinguished herself in the excellent delivery of administrative processes earlier bagged a recognition that earned her a Pan-African Award, the Thomas Sankara Leadership Prize for Excellence as an Amazon of Public Service Renaissance on 29th August 2022, for her consistent impactful contributions to the Federal Civil Service as well as growth and sustenance of OGP principles in Nigeria.

Guests, associates, colleagues, friends and family members during a reception organized for her, poured encomiums on her for the well-deserved Honour and recognition. She was described as principled, hardworking, innovative, humane, kind, a coach, Mentor, Philanthropist, God-fearing etc. She was also described as a great lover of Nigeria and her people.

In her remarks, while she thanked guests, she admonished that Nigeria is the only country we have, she reiterated that the Land is Green and full of opportunities and that Nigerians should endeavour to stay in the Country and contribute their quota adding that they will certainly make it here if they work hard.

“Whether someone is watching or not, do the right thing”, she charged her guests.
“Diversity is an asset to Nigeria and Everyone has something to bring to the table and I believe we will attain our desired dream of a new Nigeria soon if we do not get weary but continue to play our roles well,” she added.

Present at the event were her schoolmates at Ahmadu Bello University, friends, both former and present colleagues and members of her family.
